The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination of Design is conducted by IIT Bombay on behalf of the UCEED CEED Implementation Committee. This exam is conducted annually between January- February. This exam analyses the basic knowledge of designing with a combination of aptitude. Other areas of knowledge are also evaluated via the UCEED exam. It is done so that the candidate can evaluate their profile for their career selection. This exam is accepted by top government and private universities like UPES Dehradun, IIT Guwahati, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IITDM Jabalpur, etc.
Criteria:
1. Class 12th is required in any stream or background.
2. The candidate must be born on or after 1st October 2000 (general category/ OPEN/ EWS/OBC-NCL) & 1st October 1995 (SC/ST category or PED Category).
3. 2 Attempts can be taken by the candidate, but only in consecutive years.
4. The candidate must have a gap of 6-12 months after class 12th to take the UCEED exam.
The Common Entrance Examination in Design is an advanced-level examination in design. This exam focuses on research skills, specialized design knowledge, and specific design disciplines. The exam is also conducted by IIT Bombay and for the top design schools of India. This exam is specifically for advanced programs like Master's and Ph.D. The exam is typically conducted in the last week of January.
Criteria:
1. Candidate must have completed their 3-year program after class 12th (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree).
2. A candidate has no limit on taking the examination.
3. The candidate must be 23 years or above.
The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is the exam that is conducted by the Council of Architecture, India. This exam is conducted for students who are interested in the architecture field. This is the exam that is accepted in the top universities of India to enrol in a 5-year program of architecture engineering. This exam evaluates The exam is also conducted by IIT Bombay and for the top design schools of India. The aptitude for the specific course of engineering. With the help of assessment, cognitive skills, visual perception, and aesthetic sensitivity tests, etc., the candidate is evaluated. The exam is conducted in 3 phases in the year: generally, in April, May, and July.
Criteria:
1. The candidate must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th.
2. Candidates pursuing the diploma must have Mathematics.
3. Minimum marks should be 50% in class 12th
4. The exam can be taken thrice a year.
National Institute of Fashion Technology is the full form of NIFT, which is regulated under the Ministry of Textiles. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted to evaluate the design skills of the candidate. This exam focuses on the analytical skills, logical skills, and aptitude, etc., regarding designing. Examination is conducted between January and February. This exam is conducted for Bachelor's & Master's programs.
Criteria:
1. Candidates can take the exam several times as they like.
2. For an undergraduate degree, the age limit should be less than 24 years as of August 1 of the admission year.
3. Candidate must have 10+2 or equivalent exam.
The National Institute of Design (NID) Design Aptitude Test (DTA) is the entrance exam conducted at the national level for the design program. This exam is conducted for design universities as an entrance test for postgraduate and undergraduate levels. With the help of sketching, modelling, and creative thinking tasks, this test evaluates the critical, analytical, and aptitude skills.
Criteria:
1. The candidate must have a 10+2 or equivalent exam for the graduate-level program.
2. A bachelor’s degree in any domain of 3-4 years is required for the postgraduate program.
3. The candidate must be born on or after 1st July 2005 for the bachelor’s degree program.
4. The candidate must be born on or after 1st July 1994 for the postgraduate degree program.
5. The candidate can take the exam as many times as they want.
