IIT-UCEED
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay conducts the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED), under the guidance of the UCEED-CEED Implementation committee, every year for admission into 4 years B.Des and 5 years Integrated M.Des courses at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIITDM Jabalpur. Apart from these participating institutes, many more result sharing Universities and Colleges associated with UCEED shortlist the students for B.Des courses using UCEED score.
Eligibility– The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2020, OR appearing in 2021. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.
IIT-CEED
The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem solving skills. CEED is conducted by IIT Bombay. It is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur and IIITDM Jabalpur, and to PhD. programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur.
Eligibility-
Candidates must have completed a degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level). Eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from the eligibility criteria for appearing for CEED. Before applying for CEED, candidates are advised to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes.
NID-DAT
National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad is the first and a premier design school in India. Presently offering B.Des of 4 year duration and M.Des of 2.5 year duration and PhD. in design. NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Assam, NID Haryana, NID Madhya Pradesh are independent autonomous Institutes under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and offer full time Graduate Diploma Programme in Design of 4 year duration.
Eligibility-
For B.Des/ GDPD: The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent). Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts &Humanities) are eligible.
For M.Des: Candidates must have completed a degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level).
NIFT
(Written & Situation Test)
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is a group of fashion colleges in India. It was established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion business. NIFT currently has 16 campuses. Its main campus is in New Delhi, and other campuses in Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Jodhpur, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Raebareli, Shillong, and Srinagar. NIFT offers 4 year undergraduate, as well as 2 year post-graduate, programmes in design, management, and technology. To secure admission in Bachelor of Design (B.Des) as well as Master of Design (M.Des) programmes offered at NIFT, students need to take two written admission tests:
1. Creative Ability Test (CAT)
2. General Ability Test (GAT)
For other courses such as Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech) and Master of Fashion Management (MFM), aspirants need to take only GAT.

For B.Des: The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent). Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts &Humanities) are eligible.
For M.Des: Candidates must have completed a degree / diploma / post graduate degree programme of minimum 3 years or 4 years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program.
NATA
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by CoA since 2006, in terms of the provisions of CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983, published in the Gazette of India. The purpose of conducting NATA is to provide a single scheme of examination for holding aptitude test and to facilitate prospective students all over the country to apply for admissions in architecture seats in institutions spread across the country and to avoid appearing in multiple aptitude tests. However, the actual admissions shall be carried out only by the concerned competent authorities of the respective states/ institutions based on valid NATA score. NATA measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test makes an assessment of drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level and critical thinking ability that have been acquired by the candidate over the past few years and are related to the specific field of study.
NATA-2020 shall be conducted twice a year, thus giving opportunity to those students who miss out the first test due to some reason or other or wish to improve upon their NATA score in the first test by re-appearing the second test. Both the first and second test will be conducted on a different date as a one-day online examination all over the country. The test shall consist of two parts: Part A is on Drawing, which is paper based and Part B comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and general aptitude which is to be answered online.
Eligibility-
For B.Arch: The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent). Students from SCIENCE streams are eligible.
